These are the days of August

Of celebrating our newest teenager and her love of baking and decorating cakes.

Of redeeming multiple trips to the mechanic shop by taking a few minutes to read and sip and date my husband at a favourite spot.

Of reading while the children have swimming lessons at our local swimming pool

Of camping and all hands on deck to make breakfast or really any meal

Of taking really good food camping and enjoying the fruits of the season

Of planning this next year of school and co-ordinating all the schedules in and out of the house

Of him holding my hand as we adventured through Calgary and not taking this sweet season for granted

Of handing my camera to my children and seeing the beauty of the world through their eyes

Of hiking 17 kms as a family and taking in stunning views

and stopping at teahouses in the middle of the hike.

What a gift August has been!
